    Status levels
Each gene is accompanied with a remark on it status. This is to inform the user of it's validity and thus inform if there are any kinds of inconsistencies. A more thorough description and detailed examples will become available in a short while

H1 Rat gene that has a human ortholog with an established human HUGO symbol that is in agreement with at least one given rat gene symbol
H2 Rat gene that has a human ortholog with an established human HUGO symbol, that is inconsistent with rat gene symbol(s). Human HUGO symbol used as rat gene symbol reference
R1 Rat gene that do not have a human HUGO symbol as a reference. RGD symbol available without symbol disagreements between the sourses. RGD symbol used as rat gene symbol reference.
R2 Rat gene that do not have a HUGO symbol as a reference. RGD symbol available however there are disagreements between the sourses. RGD symbol used as rat gene symbol reference.
R3 Rat gene that do not have a human HUGO symbol or a Mouse MGI symbol available as a reference. No RGD symbol available. Identical symbol from other so urses or gene symbol only present in one database.
M1 Rat gene that do not have a human HUGO symbol or a RGD symbol available. Mouse MGD symbol in agreement with at least one symbol from other sourses. M GI symbol is used as a rat gene symbol reference.
M2 Rat gene that do not have a human HUGO symbol or rat symbol as a reference. MGI symbol is uses as a rat gene symbol reference.
IL Rat gene that cannot be categorized in any of the above status levels. Taken for manual consideration.
IS Status level which accompanying gene is not in accordant with rat gene nomenclature rules is given the suffix IS.
